Don Barry was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and grew up in a musical family. Dad was an operatic tenor, Mom a pianist, and his Grandfather played the banjo, guitar and mandolin. With all these musical influences it was only natural that Don picked up the bass, guitar, and ukelele. He never stopped, and now has played music for more than 30 years.

Early in his career he spent time playing with "Listen to Living" and "Front Street," which led him to a summer working in the house band in a Catskills NY resort hotel. There he picked up his appreciation for jazz and blues and developed his chops on the upright bass. Don has toured with Lonesome Dave Clark, and former Muddy Waters sideman Chicago Bob, and played gigs in the Cambridge/Boston scene with Luther Johnson down at the old Highland Tap, Speakeasy, and Bunratty's in the 1970s.

He is now a much-sought-after accompanist for a number of performing and recording artists, including Lenny Solomon and Dawn Kenney.

Don brings his musical experience and taste to many Wepecket recording sessions, as a player and as a producer. He also figures prominently in the operations and decision-making for Wepecket.
